Special Weapons
Special weapons provide that extra bit of firepower that primary weapons can often fall short in. This comes with the caveat of a limited ammunition supply.
Types
Sniper Rifles are the classic long range high precision damage weapon that can be found in most shooters. These weapons hit hard and reward a skilled hand while keeping the person using them at a safe distance.
Shotguns are another classic, hard hitting at close range with a spread of pellets. Low fire-rate and low range but high ease of use allows for people
Fusion Rifles are a unique type of weapon. They have a charge-time before they fire and when they do it's a scattering of projectiles that deal high damage. They are a mid range damage option as long as you can control the burst.
Trace rifles are almost a combination between a primary and special weapons as they deal relatively low damage at a high fire-rate and they have large ammunition reserves.
Glaives are weapons based off the pole weapon with origins in Europe. In Destiny 2, the glaive functions both as a melee weapon and a projectile weapon while having a shield to defend against retaliation.
Breech grenade launchers are single shot grenade launchers that have high damage and an area of effect explosion. With a lengthy reload these weapons serve as a way to soften up tougher enemies to finish them off with primary weapons.
Rocket Sidearms are a relatively new addition to the game that shoot micro rockets at enemies. With low ammo reserves, middling damage and decent fire-rate, these weapons provide a unique playstyle for those that use them.
